1.Scope

The purpose of this guide is to present the AeL 6 Test Editor and its main flows: create a test and add questions.

2.Using the test editor

2.1. Create a test

The test editor is used to create evaluation tests that can be included in synchronous or asynchronous courses.

To create a test using the QTI editor you have to:

Figure 1 Test’s name

·         In the “AeL Test Editor” window go to Test \ Properties.

Figure 2 AeL Test Editor

·         Edit assessment test properties:

o    Navigation mode – can be “Linear” or “Non Linear”. The navigation mode determines the general paths that the student may take. A test in linear mode restricts the student to attempt each item in turn. Once the student moves on they are not permitted to return. A test in nonlinear mode removes this restriction - the student is free to navigate to any item in the test at any time.

o    Shuffle – checked-in or checked-out. If checked-in causes the order of the child elements to be randomized, if checked-out uses the order in which the child elements are defined.

o    Has time limit - checked-in or checked-out. If checked-in causes the test has time limit, if checked-out the test has no time limit.

o    Time limit The time limits relate to the durations of all the item sessions plus any other time spent navigating the test.
